Liesbeth den Besten is an independent art historian who is working internationally as a writer, advisor, and educator in the field of contemporary jewellery. She has curated several exhibitions in the Netherlands and abroad. She is the author of On Jewellery, a compendium of international contemporary art jewellery (Arnoldsche 2011), and numerous other titles. She is currently working on a new book about jewellery, with the working title: The Material Evolution of Jewellery, shell beads to e-waste.
