David Huycke is an artist best known for his innovative approach to metalwork and granulation. His work is inspired by cosmic themes and natural phenomena, balancing on the edge of figuration and abstraction. In 2010, he obtained a PhD in the arts with the project ‘The Metamorphic Ornament: Re-Thinking Granulation’. Huycke is professor at the Faculty of Architecture & Arts at Hasselt University and at PXL-MAD School of Arts, where he serves as head of the Object & Jewellery program.
